Riders bandage horses legs regularly. The following should be consideed.

- being kicked whilst working round horses legs
- make sure area is safe and tidy
- horse to be tied up correctly with a quick release knot
- correct PPE must be worn
- hair must be tied up or kept under hat
- no jewellery worn
- never kneel down by horse
- never sit on floor whilst working round horse
- always be aware that a startled horse can pull back and take flight
- a loose horse is a big danger so must make sure area is free from distractions and is an appropriate area for horse and working round horse
- bandage and equipment should be in good working order
