CHILDREN STAYING BEYOND LESSON TIMES

Before requesting agreement from Court Equestrian LLP for your child to spend extra time at the riding school/stables, please put your name and email address in the above fields, read this whole document, and press the SUBMIT button

We know that many young people just like being around ponies and horses, especially with like-minded people, and are happy to spend many hours around the stables.

However, Court Equestrian is a busy working environment and we have many riders and livery owners. There is always activity: people walking about, horses and ponies being mounted or ridden, yard surfaces being cleaned, feed being prepared, tractors and trailers being moved. It is a fun area but it is not play ground.

Riders should not usually stay at Court Equestrian when they are not having a lesson or something similar.

Parents/carers are expected to collect children at the end of their session.

However, with specific approval, some riders may be allowed to stay for an extra agreed length of time. But it must be agreed with a senior instructor and there are specific conditions. Please note that such children will not be supervised at all times.

The following conditions apply:

specific agreement must be obtained and confirmed by email that a child may stay extra;

  • the child's profile must be on the Booking System and must be completed;

  • the child must have already spent some time at Court Equestrian, so that we both know each other;

  • the child must have a minimum of a paid 30-minute lesson per week (or equivalent);

  • minimum age 9-10 years, depending on experience;

  • the chid will be expected to provide moderate useful help/work around the yard. This may include being a lead-reiner for young riders, helping prepare feed/water for horses, picking up muck around yard, grooming a suitable pony;

  • supervision will not normally be provided except when the child is asked to help in a specific task;

  • food, drink, suitable clothing, sun protection etc to be provided by parent/carer.

We cannot prevent children from leaving the premises eg to visit local village shop (half mile along Lower Ferry Lane, local playing fields or friends.

Everyone at Court Equestrian is expected to behave with respect and consideration for others.

Liveries can, of course, spend time grooming their pony/horses, cleaning tack and looking after them. However, once finished, the same rules apply.

To complete this form please give the First + Last name of the parent Carer and their email address, PLS the name of the child in the blank field.

By submitting this form you confirm that you understand and agree with these conditions if we agree to your child spending additional time at Court Equestrian.
